Knox Middle School, previously named Knox Junior High School, was built in 1958 and consisted of grades 7-9. It was named after Mr. J. H. Knox who was Superintendent of Salisbury City Schools. In 1983 a grade level and name change took place. Our school presently consists of grades 6-8. A merger of two local units took place in 1987 with Knox Middle School becoming part of the newly formed Rowan-Salisbury School System. Knox Middle School, located in the city of Salisbury, NC is near Rowan-Regional Medical Center and Catawba and Livingstone Colleges.
