Athletic News

Knox will be the 1st in this area to do a series of nontraditional methods of getting students involved in both academics and sports called "Try Something New" Sports Programs that will include AA Field Day. Alternative sports like speed jumping, double dutch, flag football, lacrosse, bowling, coed volleyball and kickball will be implemented to get students involved. Students will then participate in athletics and academics by focusing on STEM the components and curriculum in hopes that area businesses/organizations sponsor projects that will create and maintain the interest in STEM related fields throughout educational journey.

Twice a year students will compete in an Academic & Athletic Field Day to showcase talents and skills in both areas. The Try Something New Sports Program will open to all public, private, and home school students in the area in grades 5 - 8.

Any stakeholder, HBCUs, local colleges, businesses and organizations willing to assist, volunteer or sponsor a team should contact me via email: or so I can get you the required paperwork and add your name to the list.
