We are proud to be entering the second year of the Knox Center for Accelerated Studies. This program will allow students to enter high school with up to 5 high school credits!
We are excited to offer the following high school credit courses:
Spanish (Part 1)
Earth and Environmental Science
Spanish (Part 2)
If students earn credits in these courses, they will start high school ahead of the game. This will allow them to take higher-level courses once they are in high school. All students who currently reside in the Knox attendance zone will remain at the school. Students who reside in Rowan County, but outside of the Knox attendance zone will be able to apply to attend Knox Center for Accelerated Studies.
There are two informational nights for parents and students who are interested in learning more about the new program and three regional meetings about the program. The dates and times are listed below.
All meetings are open to any student/family.
Granite Quarry Elem.
China Grove Elem.
**The application deadline is March 10th.
In year two of the program, the focus will be on the E-STEAM program, including the possibilities of local internships and real world learning. We will also be exploring the possibility of adding an extended learning day.
